Data Analyst

Help YCC’s committee and project teams by providing data-driven recommendations.

Description

As YCC’s Data Analyst, you will be the expert for turning data into actionable insights for our committee and project teams. You’ll work across the organisation - supporting the committee, guiding project teams with client data analysis, and helping YCC improve how it provides its services.

Your work will span three key areas: analysing YCC’s internal operations - including recruitment, training, and performance metrics - to identify improvements; advising and supporting project consultants on how to handle, analyse, and visualise client data effectively; and developing data collection methods such as surveys and analytics dashboards.

Occasionally, you may also deliver training sessions to consultants on data handling best practices.

This role suits someone who enjoys a variety of problem-solving across different contexts, and making data accessible to non-technical audiences. You will need a blend of analytical and creative thinking, clear communication, and adaptability.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with the YCC Tech Team to implement the department’s strategy
Support, work with, and mentor other team members (and the wider committee) as required
Advise project teams in the best ways to handle and visualise their client’s data as required
Ensure YCC follows best practices in security, usability, and privacy in their technology solutions
Monitor and develop metric collection sources such as Web Analytics and social media
Create and analyse surveys for key YCC streams such as recruitment and training
Examine and offer insight into how YCC can improve its operations
Stay up-to-date with relevant technology trends and apply learning to improve YCC systems
Willingness to support projects in other specialities
Actively participate in weekly team meetings
Attend semesterly committee meetings
