Facilitate communication with clients and ensure project teams are on schedule
Description:
Project Managers are a key role within York Community Consulting and sits within the Client Services team. You will be responsible for maintaining regular communications between the project team and their external contacts, which includes the client and external mentors. During the project cycle, you will ensure that the client is happy with the project progress and support the team in achieving that goal.
You will also ensure regular communications between the Project Team and external mentors and make sure they are making the most of their professional experience. This may involve keeping the external mentors up to date with the team's progress and arranging communications between them.
Being a Project Manager is an incredibly rewarding role with a lot of face-to-face exposure to different stakeholders. The projects side of your work will see you engaging clients, setting up projects, and training consultants, amongst many other things. This role will give you valuable experience in professional communications with industry professionals.

Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate the project team, ensuring deliverables are completed to the highest standard in accordance with the Terms of Reference.
- Work collaboratively with the Managing Partner(s) and the other Project Managers to share best practices and strengthen project delivery across YCC.
- Manage the client relationships, including all email communication, scheduling/running meetings and handling project logistics (e.g. room bookings, online meeting setup etc).
- Provide weekly progress updates to the client either via email or call, as appropriate each week.
- Share key deliverables with both the client and the mentor in a timely and professional manner.
- Request and manage any additional information or resources needed from the client.
- Provide fortnightly progress updates to the Managing Partner(s).
- Maintain all email contact with your assigned mentor.
- Organise and lead weekly mentor meetings to share progress, receive feedback and ensure consultants and the senior consultant remain engaged, with their expertise integrated into the project.
- Manage and oversee all key deliverables, including drafting and finalising the Statement of Work, toolbox of deliverables and the Final Presentation.
- Ensure clear communication flows within the project team by organising and facilitating weekly team meetings and key internal communications.
- Uphold YCC’s value of professionalism, confidentiality and accountability in all client and internal interactions.
- Attend mandatory weekly 1-2 hour training sessions, ensuring team engagement with content and activities.
- Support the professional and personal development of the whole team through feedback and guidance.
- Act as the first point of contact for internal team conflict. Take steps to de-escalate and resolve issues where possible and signpost consultants to the appropriate contacts if further support is needed.
- Assist during recruitment season by interviewing and supporting the selection of suitable hires.
- Attend fortnightly SLT meetings.
- Attend twice-termly committee meetings.
